Flux 3 Max Prompts
A good Flux 3 Max prompt describes one video shot, not a still image: who is in it and what they do, how the camera moves, what happens across the 5 to 20 seconds, and what you should hear. Below are 24 copy-ready video prompts for text to video, image to video, and first and last frame, plus the formula behind them.
How do you write a Flux 3 Max prompt?
Flux 3 Max is a video model with generated sound, so a prompt written for an image model leaves out most of what it can control. Write these six parts, in this order, and skip any that do not matter for the shot.
| Part | What to write | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Shot and style | Format, genre, and look in a few words | Cinematic western, 35mm film look |
| Subject and action | Who or what is on screen and the one main thing they do | A lone rider crosses a dusty main street |
| Camera | One camera move and the framing | Slow push-in from a wide shot to a close-up |
| Timing | Two to four beats with rough timestamps for clips over 8 seconds | 0-3s: wide shot. 3-7s: he stops. 7-10s: close-up |
| Sound | Ambient sound, effects, music, or one short spoken line | Wind, distant church bell, a horse snorting |
| Keep | What must not change, mostly for image to video | Keep her face, outfit, and background unchanged |
Prompts can be up to 5,000 characters on this site, but 40 to 120 words is usually enough. Longer prompts tend to add competing actions, and one clear action per shot is more reliable.
Flux 3 Max text to video prompts
Text to video builds the whole scene from words, so these prompts spell out the setting, the look, and the order of events.

Text to video · 6s · 9:16
Close-up of a barista pouring steamed milk into an espresso cup, forming a latte art heart. Slow motion, warm cafe light, blurred customers in the background. Milk pouring, cup set down on a saucer, soft cafe chatter.
Flux 3 Max image to video prompts
Your photo already sets the subject, look, and framing, so an image to video prompt should describe only the motion, the camera, and the sound, and say what must stay the same.
Bring a portrait to life

She blinks, takes a small breath, and turns her head slightly toward the camera with a soft smile. A light breeze moves a few strands of hair. Very slow push-in. Keep her face, clothing, and background unchanged. Quiet room tone.

Flux 3 Max first and last frame prompts
With two keyframes, the model already knows where the clip starts and ends. Describe how it gets from one to the other: the transition, the camera path, and the sound along the way.
Day to night
First & last frame · 8s · match frames
A smooth time-lapse from the first frame to the last: the sun sets, the sky turns orange then deep blue, and the city lights switch on one by one. The camera stays still. City ambience fading into a calm night.
Outfit transition
First & last frame · 5s · 9:16
She spins once on the spot and her outfit changes mid-turn from the first look to the second, ending in the same pose as the last frame. Fixed camera, full-body framing. A whoosh on the spin, upbeat music hit at the end.
Sketch to finished render
First & last frame · 6s · match frames
The pencil sketch fills in with color and light from left to right until it matches the finished render in the last frame. Lines turn into real surfaces and shadows. Slow push-in. Soft pencil scratching fading into a warm ambient tone.
Room makeover
First & last frame · 8s · 16:9
The empty room transforms into the furnished room in the last frame: furniture slides in, the walls change color, and plants appear, all in one continuous move. The camera slowly pushes forward through the doorway. Light, playful whooshes and a soft chime at the end.
Flux 3 Max prompts with dialogue and sound
Flux 3 Max generates sound with the video. Put spoken words in quotes, keep each line short, and list the sounds you want in the order they happen.
Short exchange between two people
Text to video · 8s · 16:9
Medium shot in a small diner at night. A man slides a coffee across the counter and says: "You look like you need this." The woman laughs and replies: "You have no idea." Static camera, warm practical lights. Diner ambience, a cup set down on the counter.
Documentary voice-over
Text to video · 10s · 16:9
Nature documentary. A sea turtle glides over a coral reef in clear blue water; the camera swims alongside it. A calm male narrator says: "Every year, she returns to the same reef." Underwater bubbles and muffled ocean sound.
Common Flux 3 Max prompt mistakes
- Writing an image prompt. A list of style keywords with no action produces a clip where little happens; add a subject action and a camera move.
- Stacking several actions in one shot. "He runs, jumps, turns, and waves" usually blurs together; pick the one that matters, or split it into timed beats.
- Leaving out sound. Audio is generated with the video, so an unspecified scene gets generic sound. Name two or three sounds, or turn audio off for a silent clip.
- Long dialogue. Long spoken lines can drift out of lip-sync; keep each line to one short sentence.
- Re-describing the photo in image to video. Describing the subject again can change it; describe only the motion and say what to keep.
- Hard physics. Fast hands, doors, and bikes can bend; simpler motion is more reliable.
Flux 3 Max prompt FAQ
How long can a Flux 3 Max prompt be?
Up to 5,000 characters on this site. In practice 40 to 120 words covers the shot, the action, the camera, the timing, and the sound; longer prompts tend to add competing actions.
Can I use FLUX image prompts with Flux 3 Max?
Only as a starting point. FLUX image prompts describe a still frame. Flux 3 Max is a video model, so add what moves, how the camera moves, what happens over time, and what you hear.
Can I use timestamps in a Flux 3 Max prompt?
Yes. Rough beats such as "0-3s: wide shot. 3-7s: he stops" help keep events in order in clips longer than about 8 seconds. Treat them as guidance for the order of events, not exact cut points.
How do I add dialogue or sound to a Flux 3 Max video?
Put spoken words in quotes after the speaker, for example: She says: "Okay, let's go." Then list ambient sounds and effects. Sound is generated with the video; switch audio off if you want a silent clip.
What should an image to video prompt include?
Only the motion, the camera move, the sound, and what must stay unchanged. The photo already sets the subject, style, and framing.
Can I test a prompt before a full Flux 3 Max render?
Yes. On this site, turn on Preview mode to render the same prompt as a quick FLUX 3 draft, then switch it off for the full Flux 3 Max clip.
