Is Flux 3 Max Open Source?
No. Flux 3 Max is a closed model. fal and Black Forest Labs have not released its weights, so you cannot download it or run it on your own GPU. It is available through hosted APIs and through sites like this one, where you generate with credits instead of code.
Why are there no Flux 3 Max weights?
Flux 3 Max launched on October 19, 2026 as a hosted model: fal post-trained it with Black Forest Labs on the FLUX 3 foundation model and serves it from its own inference platform. The launch did not include downloadable weights or a local license.
As of October 20, 2026, neither company has announced an open-weight release of Flux 3 Max. This page will be updated if that changes.
How can I use Flux 3 Max without code?

Will Flux 3 Max be open sourced?

Can I fine-tune Flux 3 Max or train a LoRA on it?
Not with public tools. Without weights there is no way to fine-tune it yourself. For custom styles, describe the look in the prompt or start from your own image in Image to Video.
Is there a free Flux 3 Max?
No. Every Flux 3 Max clip is a paid render. On this site, Preview mode renders a cheaper FLUX 3 draft so you can test a prompt before spending credits on the full clip.
Is Flux 3 Max the same as the open FLUX image models?
No. The open FLUX models generate still images. Flux 3 Max is a separate video model with generated sound and closed weights.
